What Is a Market Order?
A market order fills your trade at once at the best price available now, without you setting the price.
Explained
A market order’s strength is speed and a sure fill; its weakness is that the price may differ slightly from what you saw, especially around news or in thin markets, which is called slippage.
Example
Example with made-up numbersYou see a buy price of 100.00 and send a market buy, which fills at 100.02 because price moved in a fraction of a second.
