What Is the Crypto Fear and Greed Index?
The fear and greed index is a number from 0 to 100 that gauges the crypto market’s mood: low readings mean fear, high readings mean greed.
Explained
It is built from factors such as volatility, volume and bitcoin dominance. Some traders read it contrarian: extreme fear can come near lows and extreme greed near highs, but it is a mood reading, not an entry signal.
Example
Example with made-up numbersThe reading was 75 a week ago and is 20 today, so the market moved from greed to fear within a week.
