Why it helps

A trader who does not log trades relies on memory, and memory keeps the big trades and forgets the small mistakes that repeat. A journal answers two questions with numbers: which strategy actually works for me, and which mistake do I keep making? Being online, it is with you on your phone and computer.

FAQ

What is a trading journal?

A record of every trade you open, its result, your reason and what you learned, so you can measure your real performance and spot repeated mistakes.

Do I need an Excel or PDF trading journal template?

You can use one, but an online journal works out your win rate and compares strategies and periods for you, and is there on any device you sign in from.

What should I write in a trading journal?

At least the instrument, direction, entry, target, stop, result and the strategy you used, plus a short note on your decision and what you learned.
